Our client is a fast-growing engineering and technology business working primarily within the Aerospace industry. Due to continued expansion and workload demand across the HR Team, the business is looking to appoint a Diversity and Inclusion Lead to join their HR team, report to the Head of HR. The successful candidate will be an experienced D&I professional, ideally coming from the engineering sector (or similar) where consciousness surrounding D&I is paramount to how a business can successfully move forward culturally in its journey. The purpose of this role is to lead the ongoing implementation and development of the ED&I strategic plan and associated policies to help the business create a more diverse and inclusive workplace. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and passionate individual to really take ownership of D&I for the business, working autonomously to educate, influence and improve their D&I status with immense job satisfaction attached to progress made. Please note: This role will be part time hours (3 days a week) and the business operates a hybrid working model, so you will work 2 days site based from Abingdon, and the other day from home. Key Responsibilites: Create a Diversity and Inclusion action plan that supports the implementation of a wider Equality Diversity and Inclusion strategic plan. Ensuring timely delivery of this action plan, and the ’embedding’ of this into the organisation. Monitor the implementation of the ED&I strategy and action plan and report on overall progress. Design and launch initiatives focused on improving diversity, continually assessing, and measuring the effectiveness of these initiatives. Lead in creating a culture of equality and inclusion across the organisation. Track diversity metrics and provide a regular update to the Leadership Team. Create and deliver ED&I training across all levels of the business. Hold regular workshops to check in with employees. Work with the communications and marketing team to develop internal and external communications. Act as an ambassador for diversity and inclusion both internally and externally. Skills and Experience: Experience in a similar D&I focussed role is essential, with a genuine passion for increasing diversity. Experience working for a fast-growing SME sized business, preferably within the engineering sector (or similar). Previous experience working specifically to improve the diversity of applications. Confidence to communicate with senior leaders around the topic/importance of D&I. Strong communication and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels. A CIPD qualification is desirable. Demonstrable humility and empathy to be able to challenge candidly. Flexible and proactive in approach. A team-player ethos, but with the ability to work standalone within the D&I spectrum. Demonstrable experience of increasing diversity at all levels of a business.
