The starting salary for this position is 40,227 per annum for 36 hours per week, based at Service HQ, Woodhatch Place or anywhere across the County as required. Surrey Fire and Rescue Service has the responsibility of protecting over one million people who live in the 650 square miles of Surrey. Our Service Leadership team have emphasised commitment to driving change across the Service to create a culture that is fairer, more compassionate and inclusive. We are in the first year of our 4-year plan which will help us achieve our vision and work to ensure we are not only inclusive within our Service but also representative of the communities we serve and able to ensure our communities are safer. We are looking for a talented EDI Partner who has a passion for EDI to develop, support and implement EDI projects in line with the Service’s People Strategy. You will need to be able to challenge our thinking, thinking outside the box to bring about dynamic and innovative solutions to drive this agenda forward. You will lead the implementation of our EDI work, building on the work to date, inspiring others to engage in this agenda both internally and externally to the Service. Bringing expertise to the field of EDI, you will be helping shape the Service’s engagement through undertaking research and making recommendations on diversity and inclusion opportunities for the Service. You will ensure such recommendations are embedded in all areas of its people agenda. This role will involve working closely with the People and OD Partners and wider People and OD team as well as senior sponsors of this work in a collaborative way to influence change. To be successful you must be passionate about EDI, highly collaborative and able to build relationships with local, regional and national partners to champion our agenda. Reporting into the Strategic People and OD Lead, this will be a varied role with the opportunity for you to shape it moving forward over the next 3 years of the programme.
