We have a fantastic opportunity to join our People team as an EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) Coordinator on a 12 month fixed term basis. You’ll be based from our new Head Office in Basingstoke, however this role will embrace Sovereign’s principle of hybrid working, with a blend of home and office working. We’re open to either full time or part time working (30 hours or more), just let us know your preference on your application. The role As EDI Coordinator , you’ll play an important part in planning, developing and supporting the implementation of a variety of individual activity plans that underpin our EDI Strategy and roadmap. You’ll work alongside our EDI Manager, taking responsibility for managing a variety of targeted EDI projects, with the support of key stakeholders. Your role will also include: Supporting on key projects connected to our EDI strategy, including Women in Trades Working alongside HR Business Partners and our EDI Manager to support different business areas to deliver on their individual EDI action plans Involvement with the preparation and management of the EDI Forum that meets on a quarterly basis, including minute taking and following up on action plans Developing and maintaining our annual calendars of notable dates and religious festivals What we’re looking for: Ideally you’ll have previous experience working in a project support or coordination role. A keen interest in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is important but previous experience within this field isn’t essential as we can support your development and understanding of EDI and Sovereign’s plans and frameworks. You’ll also need: To be a great communicator to enable you to connect with a broad range of employees and stakeholders in an engaging way; curious, with the ability to ask great questions to understand and help overcome any resistance to change Great planning and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines, organise your time, flag risks and take a solution focused approach Good judgement to make confident decisions or escalate when necessary A creative flair and innovative mind-set, generating ideas and alternative ways to do things To be self-motivated, focused on delivery and with the ability to define deadlines and work towards these What you can expect from us: In return we commit to value you for who you are and what you will bring to the role.
