Our client, a public sector body, seek a DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION MANAGER , on an interim basi for 6 months with potential for further extensions. This role can be based in Dundee or Glasgow. You will ensure they deliver our commitments in the public sector equality duty and will coordinate activity in support of our Equality Strategy and Mainstreaming Equality Plan. Main duties: Provision of advice, support and guidance to business areas on a full range of diversity and inclusion related matters, interpreting and ensuring compliance with legislation Working with Communications colleagues to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion issues and promoting change Developing a community of practice to support business areas to deliver effective Impact Assessments to ensure we deliver our commitments Monitoring and reporting on progress against organisational plans and strategies, in line with Our Charter Review and development of Equality Strategy and Public Sector Equality Duty outcomes Participation in internal and external equality networks, to ensure we gather a broad range of opinion and insight to support our work Acting as an advocate for diversity and inclusion issues: championing the needs of our clients and colleagues in line with our values and Public Sector Equality Duty outcomes Build the knowledge and capability of managers and employees through coaching and work with Learning & Development colleagues to develop and deliver learning interventions to support diversity and inclusion. Contribute to conference speeches, presentations and briefings for Executive Team members on diversity and inclusion issues. Prepare papers for Executive Team, Executive Advisory Body, Agency Leadership Team and other governance groups Taking responsibility for own learning and development to keep up-to-date with diversity and inclusion matters Essential skills: Ideally you will hold membership of CIPD Good practical knowledge of public sector equality duties and equality legislation, including development of Impact Assessments Experience of developing practical guidance to support organisational learning and development and delivering learning interventions. Experience of developing networks, managing productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to improve performance. Track record of developing and delivering action plans and experience of translating outcomes into appropriate actions with measurable impact.
