The Diversity Project Manager will commission and lead on projects to implement recommendations from reports commissioned by the organisation, working in partnership with other organisations across the STEM sector. This will include, but is not limited to, leading on projects aimed at developing new resources and programmes to support scientists from under-represented groups to progress in STEM careers, and support the successful delivery of activities under the organisations Diversity Strategy 2022-25. The role requires a thorough understanding of current issues relating to inclusion and diversity, and a proven ability to build and maintain strong strategic relationships with colleagues and external organisations. The successful candidate will be able to recognise, understand and respond to the needs to different stakeholders. They will also have excellent communication, project management and planning skills. Supporting the successful delivery of projects, activities and events under the Diversity Strategy on time, to budget, and to the agreed scope. This includes: Commission and lead projects to implement recommendations from diversity and inclusion related reports commissioned by the organisation, working in partnership with other organisations across the sector; Providing expert guidance to teams across the organisation to ensure that the recommendations in the organisations commissioned reports are implemented by the organisation as a funder, to help them meet their diversity objectives in their own work programmes, and acting as a key point of contact for diversity-related queries and advice Monitoring budgets for projects under their control and feeding this information into the overall budget for the Section Working effectively with internal and external service providers, e.g. internal digital, design and communications teams, and external suppliers. Developing strong strategic relationships with teams across the organisation, senior stakeholders and organisations across the scientific community, to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Supporting the Diversity Manager in ensuring that diversity activity is co-ordinated across the organisation and that activities are presented in a cohesive and effective manner. Contributing to other activities as required.
