South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are seeking an experienced Equality Lead looking for a new opportunity to drive forward the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda within a great organisation, who strive every day to protect the communities in Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing team with a customer focus. The role will support the Service in enhancing the culture of belonging, promoting equality and celebrating diversity. With a chance to shape the future of the EDI agenda, you will be pivotal in developing policy, engaging with key stakeholders and facilitating change across one of the largest Fire and Rescue Services in the UK. The successful post holder must have previous experience of leading EDI initiatives and providing customer focused solutions and advice from both an Equality law and best practice perspective. Experience of building relationships within this field with external stakeholders would also be of benefit, along with the ability to write effectively for reporting and engagement purposes. Please note that there will no opportunity to fill this role on a secondment or job-share basis. Due to the nature of the role there will be occasions where the individual will be required to work evenings or weekends and there will be some travelling involved across the SWFRS region. The ability to travel independently is required.
