Role: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead Salary: Up to 55,000 per annum Contract: Permanent – Full-time and part-time options available Location: Across Greater Manchester/ Home-based The Growth Company are looking for a passionate leader who will proactively drive the equality agenda across the Group. This role will encompass all strands of equality but will have an immediate focus on racial equality initiatives. As our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead (EDI Lead), you will have the energy, passion and skills to positively drive change, challenge and influence behaviours, practices and culture, holding a critical role in the development of a diverse and inclusive workforce and culture aligned with the Growth Company’s Equality Pledge. Key Responsibilities: The EDI Lead will provide support and input into the strategic direction for cultural change, helping maximise the effectiveness of Leaders, Managers and Supervisors across the business, ensuring the delivery of a fair and inclusive culture, which will in turn support the health and wellbeing of colleagues, clients and customers Ensure there is diverse representative groups and involvement, to improve service outcomes through recruitment and development initiatives Proactively champion the voices of diversity and improve the visibility of BAME and other underrepresented groups Develop and analyse data sets to provide evidence based targeted interventions Leverage GC’s core values to form a culture of awareness, action, and accountability About You: The knowledge, understanding and experience of racial inequality, raising awareness of discrimination and disadvantages that exist for people in black and minority ethnic communities and can develop key interventions and solutions to overcome this Evidence of achieving improvements to service delivery and/or workforce/community issues for minority/underrepresented groups Demonstrate strong empathy and sensitivity to the needs and experiences of individuals and groups The commitment and enthusiasm for EDI and for facilitating change and service improvement Essential Experience: Proven experience of working and supporting EDI initiatives within a multi-faceted organisation to drive measurable change Experience of either leading or supporting the EDI agenda in a complex organisation and a proven ability to engage and challenge at all levels internally and externally A working knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion theory/application and legislation policies Experience and practice in EDI leadership, strategy development and execution to achieve business results across a diverse range of sectors Previous experience with unconscious bias, courageous conversations, and inclusive leadership Experience and understanding of inequality and the disadvantages that exist for people with protected characteristics Proven ability to facilitate learning through focus groups, coaching and training Strong analytical and report writing skills The GC has now committed to ‘Ban the Box’.
