Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Edinburgh to recruit for a Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead in the Public Sector on a temporary basis for 6 Months with potential extension. Day rate: 250 – 350 (Inside IR35) via umbrella This role will be based remotely for the foreseeable. Main Duties: Implement policies and procedures to ensure continuing legal compliance, and monitor and report progress as necessary Represent the organisations EDI function at EMT and Board meetings as required, including drafting papers and reports and presenting information as appropriate to influence continuous improvement Provide support to ensure timely and high-quality completion of EqIAs wherever required across the organisation, including templates and guidance, briefings/training and influence of appropriate governance mechanisms to ensure consistent compliance and adherence to action plans Give expert guidance to our HROD teams to support solid compliance in areas such as recruitment, L&D and employee relations Work with colleagues to create a high-quality EDI dashboard, with aligned KPIs developed, to improve the organisations EDI MI proposition Support analysis of the organisations EDI training provision and make recommendations for improvement Support delivery of the organisations EDI Comms Strategy and associated Action Plan Support the sustainability and influence of colleague networks and inclusion groups Support delivery across the HROD function, enhancing the objectives of our goal tree through value-adding expert advice that enhances practice – for example through development of the organisations employee value proposition in conjunction with the Resourcing Team or further development of pulse surveys in conjunction with the Colleague Experience Team Essential: Leading and Communicating Strong interpersonal and influencing skills: able to use a constructive approach to communication which ensures effective stakeholder engagement Collaborating and Partnering Proven experience of colleague networks and senior leadership engagement on the EDI agenda Analysis and making effective decisions/Changing and Improving Able to manage the design and implementation of various HROD initiatives or policies, evaluating results and making appropriate changes and improvements as required Building Capability for All Ability to build credible working relationships with employees and managers at all levels, including senior executives, in order to support and guide on the EDI agenda Delivering a Quality Service/Demonstrating Commitment and Drive Ability to work confidently and with a high level of autonomy in a challenging and changing business environment. Chartered CIPD membership (or working towards), or relevant other qualification e.g. employment law Proven understanding and application of equalities legislation and leading practice in EDI Proven experience leading the EDI agenda on behalf of a complex organisation Candidates are required to have a Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate
