Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer Location: Holborn Salary: 16.74 Duration: ASAP for 2 months, potential of being extended Contract type: Temporary Adecco are recruiting for a prestigious university based in Holborn. They are looking for an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer. This role sits within the Equity Diversity & Inclusion Unit responsible for ensuring compliance with equalities legislation and the School’s own policies, procedures and processes. The team is tasked with advising and influencing specifically on best practice in equalities, as well as mainstreaming equality and inclusiveness throughout all practices and functions. Duties and Responsibilities include: Act as a central contact point for general advice on EDI related matters and direct staff and students to internal resources available and dealing with the disclosures coming to the EDI inbox. Organise and support relevant internal and external EDI activities including meetings and events. This includes the EDI Advisory Board. Draft correspondence maintain finance and staffing systems. Facilitate governance with the view of advancing the profile of the university. Co-ordinate of follow-up actions between meetings. Provide expert advice and guidance on EDI, particularly around equality impact assessments (EIAs) in supporting the development of policies, including the management of a volunteer scheme to support this. Design, conduct and report on staff and student consultations, focus groups and surveys to developed the understanding of lived experiences from different protected groups. With the Head of EDI monitor and report progress against EDI objectives and action plans set out in the EDI Strategy Ensure that all work is carried out within allocated budgets in liaison with the Head of EDI. Organise committee meetings and working groups including the EDI Advisory Board. Duties will include: the distribution of agendas and supporting papers; the production of minutes as the record of agreed actions, co-ordination of follow-up actions between meetings. Lead dissemination of EDI related content on website and social media channels. This includes reviewing, updating and maintaining the EDI content of the website. Design and deliver briefings, presentations, communications and other activities for enhancing engagement and awareness on equalities issues.
