We are exclusively supporting our fantastic public sector client who are looking for a HR Advisor specialising in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to join their brilliant HR team! This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary between 29,793 – 31,725 . There is homeworking offered in this role, however you will be based out of the office based in Hull on a hybrid basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR professional with a real passion for EDI to take on as the purpose of the role is to act as a trusted advisor to the organisation on matters relating to EDI. The role is required to identify issues and manage focussed activity in line with the organisation’s EDI strategy and internal delivery plan, ensuring legal compliance is maintained. THE ROLE: Contributes towards the delivery of the organisation’s ambitions through innovative action to create an organisational culture that is professional, compassionate and inclusive of all. Acts as an advisor for improving policies and procedure to ensure they are inclusive of all, providing professional advice, accessing networks internal and external when required. Identify organisational and local trends through data and analytics to help the organisation be more proactive and intelligent around EDI, cultural issues, disparities and disproportionalities. Supports the coordination of activity to deliver against the EDI Strategy, Attraction, Recruitment, external assessments and peer reviews. Monitoring progress made, identifying barriers to be overcome and offers recommendations for moving forward to achieve the force EDI strategic ambition. Engage nationally with various stakeholders to deliver against the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda sharing best practice and bringing additional learning back. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach in all equality, diversity and inclusion activity Ensure that the statutory equality duty is met by undertaking internal and external research. Taking appropriate action as a coordinated approach to meet organisational and public need. Work with and support Department Heads to develop consultation and engagement processes with protected characteristic groups, ensuring representation. Assist with the development of local action plans to meet the statutory general Duties and monitor and quality assure outcomes to ensure organisational needs are met. Provide an advisory service to policy writers and owners in relation to conducting Equality Impact Assessments. Ensure Positive Action campaigns are supporting the wider diversity and inclusion agendas. Supervise the Positive Action officers, undertaking Performance Development Reviews, assesses training needs and manages all aspects of the employee life cycle. Perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility. REQUIREMENTS: CIPD qualified Has knowledge and understanding of strategic challenges related to EDI and organisational cultural. Proven experience of providing EDI support and advice to staff and senior managers. Can identify, develop and appropriately articulate innovative solutions to EDI issues. Experience of delivering a co-ordinated approach EDI. Experience of leading an effective team, setting team expectations and objectives, tracking progress and holding team members to account for delivery.
