The Head of Diversity & Inclusion will act as an advocate for, and subject matter expert in, EDI. The role will take the lead in the shaping, developing and embedding of the EDI agenda into the fabric of the organisation, by developing close relationships with stakeholders and influencing decision making. Client Details My client is a leading Public Sector organisation based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Description Key responsibilities: Create an environment of trust, inclusion and belonging to ensure that the EDI strategy is led and embedded in an inspiring way, to ensure a welcoming environment for all Understand the business needs to deliver a national diversity and inclusion strategy with senior leaders and key stakeholders Identify quality EDI objectives in line with organisational aims and the overall people and culture strategy Develop both a qualitative and quantitative approach to understanding the challenges and opportunities, to create the environment of an inclusive and equitable workplace Contribute to organisational change, applying your EDI expertise to enable diversity of people Provide expert advice to enable positive change during organisational change Support and influence senior leaders in driving the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion agenda Be a key contributor to the Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) approach, ensuring it is always in line with current legislation Implement innovative initiatives and solutions that demonstrate a continuous commitment to EDI and the people and culture strategy Develop engagement plans that talk to the ‘hearts and minds’ of colleagues, partners, and relevant stakeholders for all EDI activity Support senior sponsor and stakeholders through collaboration, articulating the benefits of EDI, with a strong focus on inclusion Deliver high quality reports, briefing papers and strategy documents Profile A strong track record in the wide remit of ED&I Experience of scoping and shaping EDI agenda and influencing senior colleagues Experience of coaching and supporting networks to work collaboratively Ability to interpret data, trends, make informed and balanced recommendations and meet reporting requirements Extensive experience in the analysis and interpretation of data/insight and reports Excellent relationship building skills Job Offer Interim role – contracted until March 2023 500 day rate Hybrid working model
